Our Baby Boy!!!!

Yesterday at 5:30 we got news of our precious baby boy. He is absolutely beautiful! Big eyes and chubby cheeks! I will write more later but we are going out to celebrate!

Step by Step

October 2006: Aaron and I attended our first Adoption Informational meeting...(we were looking bi-racial/full racial and with a different agency.)

November 2006: We accepted a new job and put everything on hold until we moved.

February 2007: We moved

March 2007: We got started with the adoption. This for us meant praying about where we would get the $500 dollars for our application fee.

April 2007: God was still giving us peace to adopt but it felt like we were swimming up stream....

Late April 2007: We begin to explore other agencies...Still domestic.

May 2007: We discover All God's Children, Ethiopia program and God spoke to my heart! 3 days later Aaron was 100% on board!. He is just more cautious than me.

We decided at that point to wait to send in our application because we wanted to take care of the moving debt.

July 2007: I remember I was really discouraged, I didn't know if we would ever be able to start. I really began to pray that this was God leading us. The verse John 4:23 popped into my head. I figured it was just a random verse but when I went and looked it up it said "I who speak to you am He." Wow! Jesus was totally talking to the woman at the well but taken out of context I needed to hear it!

Late July 2007: We get a card with a check in it above and beyond the amount of our application. We saved it and used it for our app. God was pouring on the blessings.

August 22 2007: We sent in our application!

October 2007: We start our homestudy...

November 18th 2007: We are so blessed and have the $ to pay our contract fees

November 22nd 2007: We sent in our contracts!

Thanksgiving 2007: Our cookbook is finished and will make an appearance at our silent auction!

December 1st 2007: Our silent Auction: Goes perfectly except for the fact that not many people came! God really turned it into a Loaves and Fish type situation.

December 28 2007: We officially decide to also wait for siblings

March 10ish 2008: Our homestudy is finally finished (that was a test in patience!).

April 2008: Our Dossier is sent in and needs some revision. We send it back and it is good!

April 4ish 2008: We get fingerprints done.

May 3 2008: Our fingerprints are official! Or we got FDL!

Sometime in there we recieved our first numbers on the wait list:

Girl # 22
Boy#18
Siblings #6
Overall #34 (I still don't know where they get this # from:)

It has been a waiting game ever since!

September 18th Referral of our precious 4 mo. old baby boy!

November 14th our first court date...I hope we pass!

November 19th WE PASSED COURT!!

December 6 we leave for AFRICA!!!

December 8 We meet our baby boy.

December 12th our whole family is together for the first time!

December 5th 2011 we have our baby Girl and are officially a family of 5!
