We started this journey as a family going from 3 members to 5. On December 12th we brought home our precious second son. Making us a family of 4. We'll see how and when God choses us to become 5.

Guarding our hearts for 6 more months
I talked to AGCI today. We confirmed parameters once again, then we went over the new changes (nothing to write home about). Then I asked the question....I don't remember specifically what the question was but I do know that Yes referrals do slow down during court closure (way down). Yes the first group to travel last year was after thanksgiving(those families had referrals given in the summer and then waited until Nov. (YIKES!) So we could look at traveling Jan. or Feb. sooooo 2009. I am doing well right now. It's all in God's timing! I guess I am more in a state of yeah I figured. Lately it hasn't all felt very real. I think it has been good though because I feel like God is really guarding my heart. I think it is going to really start to hurt come Oct. when the courts open back up. Well please continue to pray for us we could have a lot longer to go:(
I also want to mention another day of prayer and fasting. This time we are praying and fasting for a Mom on the list serve who just found out her Mom has uteran cancer. I will also challenge others on this day to pray and fast for little Abbey who has at least a 2 year battle with leukemia ahead of her.
Thanks for joining me!

Honesty
You know it is funny the squeeky wheel gets the attention. I just have to laugh at myself because for me this was a lesson learned.
I am the one who has put this weird reign on myself. Like I have to perfect in order to belong in the wonderful world of adoptive families...
Every time I talk to AGCI I get so nervous that I am going to say something totally stupid (which yes is very possible and quite likely). I always get so nervous that I will say the wrong thing to the wrong person at the wrong time.Well this isn't like me. I am just so out of my element. So my last post was honest and I wasn't totally ostrasized. Thanks to those who supported me!
Well here is a little more honesty for all of you...
Sometimes I can't picture what it will be like to bring my little one home. I can't imagine traveling. I am scared to leave my little George home with someone other than his mom and Dad. I think all of this changes once you see the prince or princess face but until then I will be honest I am a little nervous.

Arggghh
This is my blogg and I can vent if I want to!
As the court closures loom in the very near future I find myself being thankful that we still have not received our referral. I think it would just be too hard to know our little prince our princess and not be able to bring them home. God is answering our prayers but why do I feel so bummed? On one hand I just want to know him or her and on the other hand I am glad that I don't know them and have to wait 4 months to bring them home.
Here is my second issue. I hate that we have a blogg. I try to post to keep people updated and I feel like no one reads it. I also feel like i am having a hard time connecting with people on the listserve. Oh well this is about us and our journey. Sometimes it's just nice to feel a special connection with another family or two or three (now I am just greedy).

Urgent request for prayer
It is with a heavy and prayerful heart that I write this post. I am asking for all of you who have been so prayerful during our adoption to prioritize this request for prayer. A family whom we have gotten to know through our process, was just told on Friday that their little three year old daughter (Abbey) has Leukemia. On Monday they will find out what type and what the prognosis looks like but Abbey will be going through a long day of testing, medicines, and a whole world she has never been introduced to. Please lift them up in prayer. Please also visit their blogg as the strength in God they have written about is a true testimony of encouragement and God's peace given to us in times of need. www.riggsbunch.blogspot.com

Our Title
So before I close I was checking out our title. It may seem like it doesn't apply anymore. When we came to our decision I said well I guess our blogg title doesn't apply anymore and Aaron wanted us to keep it. He said that this is our Journey from what we thought was 3 to 5. Yes we will now grow to 4 but people will ask what our title means and we will be able to tell them the amazing story of where God has taken us in all of it's twists and turns. It will help us not leave out one detail of our story!
a hard decision
We have our new numbers and we are moving, We feel at a very fast pace(totally excellent). Through some amazing circumstances God has really brought some much needed conversations into the Rye home. Over the last 48 hours Aaron and I have been really asking eachother some hard stuff. Really long personal story short we have come to a hard but good place. We have decided to take ourselves off of the sibling list. I know this will come as a shock to many because we really felt God was leading us in this direction. One thing I began to ask myself is if I could physically do it. Not emotionally (which would also be difficult) but physically. Could I physically handle carrying 3 children around at different times throughout the day. The answer for me is no. We knew it would be hard but I guess moving closer and closer to our "due date" has helped us realize that we need to be asking ourselves the really hard questions now. We want our "ultrasound" moment to be nothing but excitement. We are so excited to meet the newest member of the Rye family!
Thanks be to God for blessing us in this journey.
